It is that time of year again when we receive nominations and elect new members to our Chapter board.

The Board sets the strategic direction for the chapter, determines meeting frequency and content, presides over the Chapter's finances and technology, and works for the benefit of our members and the business analysis community.

I have been a member of the IIBA^® Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) Chapter for several years.  Our local Chapter has been instrumental in expanding my business analysis knowledge while becoming an experienced Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP^®).  The Chapter provides a great environment where business analyst professionals can continuously learn new BA skills while listening to respected speakers and interact with experienced professionals in our industry.    

Becoming a Board member allows you to expand your network and make important contacts that may lead to amazing opportunities and lifelong friendships.  You will join other talented professionals serving on the Board that are passionate about business analysis and promote the BA profession in our local community.  I encourage you all to nominate yourself for one of our open Board member positions that are up for election this year to help make an impact and influence the future direction of our local Chapter.  This is an excellent opportunity and I thank you in advance for considering a nomination for one of our available Chapter Board positions. 

Being that most Board positions are two-year terms, approximately half of the Board positions are up for election each year.  The President-Elect position is a one-year term which rolls into the President position the following two years.

Board positions up for election this year are:

• VP of Events
• VP of Finance
• VP of Technology & Communication
• Director of Membership
• Director of Sponsorship

How Do I get on the ballot?

Chapter members can self-nominate or nominate another Chapter member for any position. A candidate may only accept a nomination for one Board position.

For more information, please go to the chapter website to find descriptions on the board positions.  I also encourage you to reach out to the Board member who currently holds the position and they can answer any questions.

When do elections occur?

Elections take place at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is on February 19th.  AGM details can be found in the emails sent out by the chapter or on the chapter website.

Please consider one of these Board positions. Volunteer Board members are the only way the Chapter can continue to operate and provide ongoing value to our members and the business analysis community.
